Harrogate Museum and Arts Wallingford Museum Archaeology Day Newly registered events include Egyptian themed events organised by Harrogate Museum and Arts, a Family Archaeology Day at Wallingford Museum in Oxfordshire, finds and archaeology days in Chester and a walk in Westbury, Somerset, investigating evidence from the Ice Age through to the Cold War.

Many of the Festival events are organised by local archaeology societies, who use the event to showcase and share their research and investigations with the wider community.

It is hoped that for many, a visit to a Festival of British Archaeology event will inspire them to find out more about the history on their doorsteps and to undertake more visits to archaeological and heritage sites, get involved with archaeological projects and join the growing numbers of the UK’s population with a fascination in archaeology and history.
