We have produced several documents to help you with promoting your event(s) and ensuring that you gain the maximum publicity and attract the largest possible audience.

Remember, to attract as large and wide an audience possible, promotion of your event in your locality is essential!

Ideas and help for promoting your event! We have produced this marketing support pack to help you make the most of your Festival event(s). It will take you through the basics of marketing your event, covering leaflets, posters, press releases and other ideas.


Leaflet Template

Leaflet template for simple but effective promotion of your event – add details of your event(s) to this template, along with images that really show off the event! Remember to include date, time, venue, directions, booking details if necessary and any other important information such as asking visitors to wear suitable footwear.

Poster Templates

Poster templatePoster templates are available in A4 and A3 and there are also A4 and A3 Welsh bilingual posters. You can also print the A4 version as an A5 flyer by choosing ‘A5’ in your printing options.

To add your own event details to these posters, simply right click on the link above and save the document to your computer. Open in Word and edit as you would any other Word document; you can change font style, size, colour and add images and logos.

Below are A4 and A3 versions of a general poster advertising the Festival of British Archaeology itself. You could put these on noticeboards in local libraries, Tourist Information Centres, Shopping Centres and many other places - please help us promote the Festival of British Archaeology and help spread the word!


As a Festival of British Archaeology event organiser registered with the CBA, please include the CBA logo on any in-house promotional material for the Festival of British Archaeology 2011. Download what you need, along with our Usage Guidelines.

NB. If you decide not to use generic Festival promotional material and produce your own instead, please include the CBA logo and indicate that your event is taking place as part of the Festival of British Archaeology.
